What are the conditions of Green Iqama for foreigners in UAE?

The United Arab Emirates has announced the detailed conditions and procedures for 'Green Iqama' for foreigners. According to Emirates Al-Youm newspaper, the government has pointed out that 'Green Iqama' is issued for 5 years in which the Iqama holder does not need a sponsor host. The Emirati government says that Green Iqama is given to independent or private entrepreneurs and artists. Individuals wishing to do independent business must fulfill certain conditions to obtain a green Iqama visa. Independent work permit, these are issued by the Ministry of Manpower. The minimum education of the aspirant should be BA or equivalent, the income of the candidate should be 3 lakh 60 thousand dirhams per annum and the record of the last two years should be presented in this regard. Skilled workers will be granted a Green Iqama visa if they fulfill the following conditions, including being a work permit holder under an effective contract of employment.

A minimum education of BA or equivalent is also required to get skilled iqama and monthly income should be 15 thousand dirhams. Aspirants of private business also have to fulfill the prescribed conditions of Green Iqama for independent business. Regarding the extension of green Iqama, the UAE government says that after the completion of the 5-year period, it can be extended for another 5 years.

Saudi Arabia has achieved great success in the field of logistics

Saudi Arabia has moved up 17 places to rank 38 in the World Bank's Logistics Performance Index 2023. The main reason for this is for the Kingdom to strengthen its national logistics strategy to become a regional hub. Saudi Arabia's ranking has improved rapidly as the kingdom was ranked 55th in 2018.

According to Arab News, Saudi Arabia has made great progress in several sub-indicators such as trade and transport infrastructure, shipment frequency tracking and tracing facilities, customs clearance and sea freight quality. "This progress has been made with the support of the Crown Prince and the goals of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics Services," Transport and Logistics Minister Saleh Al-Jasser said in a statement. He added that the strategy includes extensive structural reforms and qualitative strategic initiatives, which will significantly transform operational efficiency and strengthen the Kingdom's position as a global logistics hub. This achievement is the result of the efforts of all parties involved in the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics Services.
